Switching from grid view to list view on series 4 watch

there are no instruction I can find to switch my apps view from the grid view to a list view on my series 4 watch. I cannot find any instructions from Apple about this. I have tried the "reset my home screen" several times but it is not doing anything to change it back to the factory settings. Any suggestions?

I would prefer not to erase everything on the watch to make this happen.

When I was stuck in the Grid View, I tapped on Settings to try and change the Apps View but it was not an option in Settings (though Google responses said it should have been). I finally downloaded a manual that said to press and hold on the watch's home screen and that would allow me to change my Apps view. I followed that instruction and was able to change it to "List View". Once I was in "List view", I opened Settings to see if your solution would work which it does. Now I can go back and forth between the two views. I do not know why I did not have the Apps View option when I was initially stuck on the Grid View but it was so. Anyway, thanks for offering your help on this as I was not very good at remembering which icon in the Grid represented which app!
