Change back to Catlina style notifications on Big Sur?

Big Sur has its own operating system styling exercise that is designed into it. You would have to revert to Catalina in order to use styling unique to it.

The right arrow on the calendar notification doesn't give different snooze options either, it just opens up the full calendar entry.

The styling is fine, the functionality is the problem. Surely they did not do something as idiotic as remove your ability to snooze for how long you want to? Did they? What a bone-headed blunder if they did.

The mail notifications still work kind of but what an awful design. What happened to the Apple that put usability first?

in my calendar app on big sur, i still have the option to choose "2 days before" and many other selections.

edit: sorry, you said 2 hours. but that option is still there for me too. and i can change it from 2 days to 2 hrs after the 2 day notification.

I think I'm officially over Apple computers and their stupid, backwards decisions. Every 4-5 years, it was a new Macbook Pro for me, but I'm going to get a Windows PC next year instead. This is just idiotic.

that's good to know. i only started getting used to using calendar notifications in big sur. in the past i have always used a paper calendar. i didn't know things had changed since catalina. thanks for that info.

That's a good work around (with some extra mouse clicks) until Apple brings back the old notification process.

That's not a good work around at all. Theo only work around is to just fix the bug. How can Apple be this horrible?

What's missing in Big Sur is the option to choose to 'snooze' an alert when it pops up (for 5 minutes, 2 hours, 1 day, etc.) Having to set up multiple alert times for Calendar events doesn't fix this problem, because it's only when an alert pops up that I can decide how best to respond (can I deal with this right now, should I delay this for 15 minutes, can I delay it for 1 day, etc.)
