iTunes says re-authorizing, and then doesn't?

I bought two songs using iTunes on a HP Z240 PC running Windows 10. iTunes won't play them on the PC - it brings up an authorization screen. When I type in Apple ID and password, it says re-authorizing, and goes away, but if I try to play the songs, it brings up the authorization screen again. After downloading purchases to my iPhone, the songs play there. How do I convince iTunes on my PC to stay authorized?

Windows, Windows 6

FYI, that is usually a sign that the downloaded song got corrupted somehow. Select Remove Download, then redownload the item.
