iPhone11 Pro Alarm doesn't go off if phone goes to sleep

I have an iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 14.2. If I set an alarm and the phone goes to sleep before it expires it never goes off. I saw a post on the issue a year ago. Will this be fixed at some point?

What you mean by sleep? You mean locked?

How to set an alarm

Open the Clock app, then tap the Alarm tab.
Tap .
