spotify will not force quit
Spotify will not force quit on my macOS MacBook. The app stays on my dock and has a red dot under it. The app will not open. How can I remove it?

When you open the Force Quit menu, does it show Not Responding next to Spotify? This link shows you how to do this: How to force an app to quit on your Mac
Also, have you tried restarting your Mac or booting into safe mode? If not, try these and see if they have any impact on this issue:
Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
Start up your Mac in safe mode
