Big Sur messages sidebar issues

in the latest version of messages from the Big Sur update my sidebar no longer shows just my contacts and partial past message. Now it shows 4 names one is my own then photos locations and documents. I do not want that I want my old sidebar back where I can quickly grab the conversation or person I want. For example now if I want to see USPS notification I have to try and remember the message title or type in USPS or something else to get it and of course I get more than that one because many times I will use fedex usps or ups in text messages. There is just no way for me to see the list mode anymore.
