My daughters new Apple TV is doing the following when she opens Apple TV on her TV to watch Disney +, Netflix, etc. The screen appears as if someone else is controlling her remote as it keeps skipping from app to app all over the place on the TV screen and she is not able to control where the curser goes on the screen with her remote. Its as if the Apple TV hardware has a mind of its own. Any thoughts?
Got on the phone with Apple support. Did two soft reboots. Press and held the menu and + buttons for 30 seconds. Did same thing with the menu and TV button. Did a software update thru settings. Everything appears to be working fine now. I’ll report back if this didn’t fix the problem long term!

Sounds alike a trip to the Apple Genius Bar - the ATV may be defective.
She can’t delete and reload any apps because neither the Apple tv remote or iphone apple tv remote can control the apple tv box. Its like someone has another remote in the room and is running constantly through all of the apps. We did reboot the apple tv box but that did not fix the issue.
Unplug the Apple TV from power for about 2 minutes and then restart and re-test. If the issue persists, uninstall the 2 apps and then restart the Apple TV as instructed above and then re-add the apps and re-log in and re-tests. Enough re's for you? :-)
