No iPads use USBA.
USBC models are -
12.9inch iPad Pro 3rd/4th Gen, 11inch iPad Pro 1/2nd gen, iPad Air 4.
Lightning adaptor (same as iPhone 11)
Ipad 8th gen, iPad mini, air 3 and any older iPads including the older iPad Pro models.

That is not correct t.moe.
If the OP purchased a 11inch iPad Pro 2nd gen that would have USBC, which is the current model out along with the 4th gen 12.9ipad pro.
12.9inch models
1st and 2nd gen - use lightning (home button)
3rd and 4th gen - use USBC
Smaller screen size models
9.7inch - use lightning (home button)
10.5inch - use lightning (home button)
1st and 2nd 11inch - use USBC
All of them, except for the fourth generation iPad Air and third and fourth generation iPad Pros.

None have ever used USB-A as the device port. They either use lightening or USB-C ports on the device itself. All can use a USB-A power supply though as their are USB-A-to-lightening and USB-A-to-USB-C cables available.
They all charge from USB standard 5V power supplies, regardless of port configuration on the power supply or the device itself. The only issue with the power supply is whether the maximum current from the power supply is minimally sufficient for the model of iPad being plugged into it. But the power supply can be USB-A or USB-C as long as you have the appropriate cable for your device’s port.
That would be a third or fourth generation.
First generation small was a 9.7 (and followed the initial 12.9). Second generation was 10.5. Both had a home button and lightning ports.
Third and fourth generation were released in 2018 and 2020, have FaceID, and a USB-C port instead of a lightning port.
Well, you’re technically right Bob - which, IMHO, is the best kind of right :-)
I was strictly going off the 2nd generation “smaller” comment - I do see that Apple’s webpage has the 11-inch iPad Pros listed as First Gen 11 inch and Second Gen 11 inch - as opposed to successors of the 9.7”/10.5”.
Hopefully we got OP’s question answered, and thanks for info.
I also went off the smaller comment and instantly thought it was the 11inch, as the 11 inch is the smaller version of the iPad Pro which apple currently sells.
You can't have a third/fourth gen if they are different screen sizes.
So hence why you have four generations of 12.9
Then 9.7, 10.5 and then two generations of 11 inch iPad Pro.
Its quite easy to understand to be honest.
So they wouldn't list the 11inch as 3/4th gen as there never was a 1/2nd gen of the 11inch.
I purchased a Ipad pro small 2nd generation and it uses UBS-c.
