iMac 27 with Mac mini
I have a defunct iMac27 {graphics card died) I love the big screen... since I need a screen with a Mac Mini can I rig it up to the iMac27 and use that as the screen.
iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

If the graphics card is dead, it is a no go regardless of anything else.
Just buy yourself an external display, much easier and less expensive then trying to repair a 27" iMac.
No. Target Display Mode was implemented in software with specific hardware requirements.
If the graphics card is dead, there's no way to use it as a display, even if you had a machine running hardware and software that was compatible with TDM.
Thanks for the replies.
I've been trying to replace the graphics card but only find reconditioned units. One lasted 3 months then failed (it's being replaced).
Is it a case that the Imac27 g-card would take the working load even if it's used as a display or would that working load be taken by the g-card in the mac mini... or would both machines' g-cards work independently.
Hope that makes sense (I'm not a techie)
