I pay extra for 50Gb icloud storage and have added my husband to share. However he is not getting access to the storage plan

I pay for extra 50GB of icloud storage & have set my husband up on family planning. Howvwer he is not getting access to the extra storage. I still have over 20GB of storage open

Family Sharing for iCloud is only allowed on the 200GB and 2TB tiers. If you have the 50GB tier, you are not paying for Family Sharing.
