What do want to read/learn?
No.
That is NOT what I am stating, at all?
Mobile consumer devices have a finite operational life.
Heck, the personal computer, in general, has a finite functional life.
Are you still regularly using a computer from 20 years, ago?
I am still using a Mac that is no longer supported and is going on 12 years, old!
My wife's Mac is 10 years old!
At some point soon, both of these computers will no longer be safe or secure to use on the Internet.
They will still work fine for non-Internet use, but use on the Intenet, at some time in the very near future, is going to end!
Apple supports their mobile iOS devices for 5-6 years ( The 2013 iPad Air 1 was supported by Apple for 6 years and third party app developers are still supporting it, to date ).
Apple supported the iPad 4th gen for nearly 5 years.
Third party app developers supported that iPad for another 2 years, or so, after Apple ended support
So, that is a total of over 7 years of product of support.
I have been stating to user who post here with older Apple iOS devices, over the past 3-4 years, that their now 8 and 9-year old Apple mobile devices will become obsolete by before 2020.
That time has already come to pass.
Mobile devices are not full computers and have a limited time of functional support.
This is not just Apple an thing, but other mobile devices makers, too.
Other mobile device makers support their devices for an even a much shorter time than Apple.
Apple actually supports their mobile products longer than ANY other maker.
Mobile device technologies advance at a rapid pace.
Technology waits for no one.
So, if you can't keep up by purchasing a newer device, at least every 7-8 years, then your old mobile devices going to be left behind.
That is the reality for any smart phone/tablet manufacturer.
I have an old, relatively cheap Android smart phone I purchased back in 2014.
My cellular phone service carrier has formally informed me that by the end of 2020, that 6-year old phone will no longer be supported by the cellular phone service.
So, I need to purchase a new cellular smart phone at the beginning of 2021.
That phone, on some, significant level, will no longer work on our chosen cell phone service.
It is what is is.
This is the realities of technology/advancing technology.
A lot has happened with iPad in 8 years since your iPad model was first introduced and a WHOLE LOT has happened with iOS in the past 3-4 years!
Sorry, but it is what it is.
Best of Luck to You!
