Migration Assistant logs out my Apple ID

Whenever I try to use migration assistant on my MacBook Pro 2019, it disconnects me to iCloud and I need to enter the password again. Is this normal?

Spinning wheel during new MacBook Pro set up I have just unboxed a new MacBook Pro. Purchased in 2019 but never unboxed until today. I chose to use migration assistant at a later date and moved on in the set up process, ‘create an apple ID’ . I want to create an new Apple ID for this device - when I clicked ‘create an Apple ID’ the spinning wheel won’t stop. Been several minutes so far. Help?

'Update Apple ID Settings' in iCloud in System Preferences Message to update also states 'Some account services will not be available until you sign in again' If I sign out the message 'Do you want to keep a copy of your iCloud data on this Mac before signing out' comes up. This is not a feasible option because of the amount of data in my iCloud account. How do you resolve and sign out
