I have an iPhone 8 and whenever I get a call, either through phone or whatsapp or other apps, when the recipient picks up it automatically connects to loud speaker and I want to know how to turn it off!
Would anyone be able to help? I can't see nything under general in setings or under the phone or whatsapp settings...

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand the audio from calls and other apps auto routes to the loud speaker. We’ll be happy to help with this.
Once this happens, are you able to change the audio to the receiver or headphones without any issue? Do you have any cases or Bluetooth accessories connected to your iPhone? If so, remove and disconnect those, then restart your iPhone:
Then test again and see if the issue is resolved.
Also, make sure your iPhone is up to date as well:
Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
