apple phone not pairing

iPhone 6 and Apple Watch series 6. Pairing continuously fails in both automatic and manual modes with no six digit code appearing on watch. Stymied.

Apple Watch won’t pair, no 6 digit code Got a series 4 Apple Watch from a friend and it won’t pair with my phone. The phone seems to be recognizing the watch but when watch won’t give the 6 digit code when trying to pair manually. I have updated my phone, restarted both the phone and the watch multiple times, turned Bluetooth off and back on, switched to airplane mode and back but nothing is working. Any thoughts?

An apple watch 6 won't pair with an iphone 6;

Apple watch 6 requires ios14 on the phone

iphone 6 will only update to ios12.
