Safari has disappeared! I can’t figure out how to see the browser.

The good news is that you still have Safari. It can not be removed as it is part of the Apple operating system. Very likely what has happened is that it somehow got removed from your desktop's Dock. Safari is located in your Applications folder. Just drag the Safari icon down to the Dock and an alias will be created there.
