Hard Reset is not working

I have tried volume up/volume down/hold the side button until apple logo appears ( i have actually held the side button so long my arm hurts) but screen never changes). Need to reset because apple email app is no longer working AGAIN! any suggestions?

got stuck inside apple mail My ipad got stuck inside apple mail. I can not get out of it. I can not even power it off (by pressing the top key). But the email works, I can still view email, write email. If I hit the top key, the screen will go dark and I can use the home key to get back to email app or use the camera. I can not do anything else. Does anyone know how to solve the problem. Thanks in advance.

We understand your Mail app is not working. You’re in the right place, we’d be glad to assist in seeking a solution.

This type of reset is not recommended unless your iPhone is not responding at all. What exactly is happening with the Maill app?

If Mail is not responding, you can follow the steps here: If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open
