I am looking to buy a new iPhone and trade in my old iPhone. Is it possible to apply for trade in on my old phone and then receive the credit for it, buy the new phone with the trade in credit, set it up and then send back the old phone?
Or is there an option to reimburse the trade in value to my credit card?
Please help, getting my phone in a few weeks and need answers :)

Ok thank you! So from my understanding, I buy the phone online and do the trade in option. I get my new phone and set it up with my old phone and then I will get a box to ship the old phone and then if verified I get the value to my payment method (which in my case is credit card). Is that right?

Yes, your first paragraph is exactly right.
If you but the new iPhone in an Apple Store, the process goes a bit faster. They will keep your trade in iPhone and credit you for its value immediately. I believe they will assist you with the data transfer from old iPhone in the Apple Store if that’s required.
Oh that's what I thought. I think I will buy online, because I am wanting to compare the camera quality, and just the phones in general, I do not really want to give my old phone in immediately. So I should go for the online option right?
Sure. Just realize your credit card will be hit for the full new iPhone price until your trade is completed.
Also, once you receive that return box (a few days after receiving your new iPhone), don’t dawdle too long in returning the old device. The trade-in offer does expire after a while.
In your first paragraph, you implied but did not state the fact that when you buy the iPhone online, you will pay for it in full using your credit card.
