Word Wrap in Numbers

Using Numbers 10.2.5 on Catalina 10.15.7. When I select Word Wrap sometimes the words wrap properly and show up on the screen even after I have left that cell, which is what I want. But sometimes, the words wrap as I type them, but only the first line remains on the screen after I have left the cell. I want to be able to print the Table and have all the information show up. Any idea why this is so flakey and how to make it consistent?

If you have adjusted the row height, it will stay whatever height you set it. If you have not adjusted it, it will automatically expand/contract in height to fit the contents. I suspect you have adjusted the height of the rows that are giving you problems with wrapping.

In the sidebar on the right, in the Table tab, near the bottom is Row Height. Select the problematic rows (or all rows) and click on "Fit".

Barry, Thanks for the rapid reply. Yes, I have Wrap Text checked in all the cells.

And, the text does wrap in all the cells. And in most of the cells, all the wrapped lines are visible, even when I have moved on to other cells.

My problem is that in some of the cells, after I move on to other cells, you can only see the first part of the wrapped text, eg:

text in box might say

Met John after work

so we could go to

dinner and then to

a movie.

But when I leave that cell only the short phrase "Met John after work" shows up. When I view the table as a whole or try to print the table, I only get part of the information that is typed into that cell, but I really need to see all of it.

I have a huge table containing many boxes in which the text is wrapped, but with this rare but frustrating inconsistency, I am not able to see all the information.

Hopefully you can understand my dilemma now.

Thanks,

Becky
