Wifi won’t stay connected to iPhone XR

I've tried everything but I can’t keep my phone connected to our wifi. It’ll be connected for a few minutes, but as soon as I open an app that uses wifi like social media, it disconnects. My husband has an android and never disconnects from the wifi so I know it’s not anything with the router. This has discovered because our phone company let us know that we’ve been using a lot of mobile data due to this issue.

Hey there Abbyyyylou,

We understand your iPhone XR frequently disconnects from Wi-Fi. We'll be happy to help.

To begin troubleshooting this, we'd recommend going through the steps here: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network

This will guide you through a few things like restarting and resetting network settings. It will also have you have you restart your iPhone and network hardware. Even though other devices on your network are OK, restarting the router and modem may still be beneficial.

If you still experience issues, we'd recommend checking for things in your area that may be causing interference. Use the steps on this page: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference

However, if this still occurs, we'd suggest reaching out to Apple Support for next steps. Use the link here: Get Support

Cheers!
