So this XR is my mother’s older phone she handed down to me. i cant update or download any apps because her apple ID says it’s still connected but doesn’t show up that it is. if that makes sense. my Apple ID shows up in settings and as a profile in the Appstore but still won’t let me update or download apps

To confirm: when you open the 'App Store' app, and click the 'Search' icon at the bottom... does your Apple ID profile photo / initials show in the upper right corner of the screen? (you can also tap on it to confirm the account)
