iPhone 12 Pro Max Overheating

I’ve had my IPhone 12 pro max for 2 weeks now. Purchased along with the apple 61w USBc charger as recommended.

the only way I can charge it to 100% is by sitting the phone directly under the aircon. Or when I’m taking 2hr drives and it’s sitting in the QI wireless charger that’s vent mounted and constantly blasted by the cars A/C.

my entire home is air conditioned yet the device stops charging at 80% and is overtly warm and borderline hot to touch.

this is not normal. Nor is it’s a case of “all devices get warm when charging”. Yea thanks for the lesson in battery tech but $2400 devices do not get so hot that the built in safety cutoff engages and stops charging the battery at 80%. Instead the 61w USBc block absorbs all the extra heat and that too gets hot to touch.

this is not normal apple and needs to be addressed sooner than later
