Logic Pro X sound moving preview

Hi

I don't know how did it happen, but whenever I move a sound in my workspace I don't see the preview of the place I'm moving it to. As a result I have to blindly move everything, and try many times before I'm in the correct timing. I don't want to reinstall the app because I don't want to lose the rest of my settings and projects.

Does anyone have a fix for that?

btw I can see some values when I move something, but nothing more than that.

Never heard of that glitch before.

In that case, standard troubleshooting steps are in orde

  • Does it happen with all Projects?
  • How about creating a new Project
  • Does it happen with Audio Regions, MIDI Regions, recorded, dragged, Apple Loops
  • Can you open a Logic Project File from a friend to check its behavior
  • Create a GarageBand Project and then open it in Logic to see its behavior.
  • Can you log in to a different user on your computer to check the behavior
  • Remove the Preferences (copy the file to the desktop and maybe later back in, so you don;thave to reconfigure everything
  • You can delete the Logic app and redownload it from the App Store (Warning, I don't know your configuration, i.e. macOS, so you have to know possible ramifications.

Also, the Display Preferences has a checkbox "Show Help Tag" that displays a black Popover with the start-stop/length position when you drag files.

Hope that helps,

Unfortunately it didn't help.

When it comes to your questions:

-It happens with all projects, including new ones.

-It happens to every type of file, an audio region, a midi region, an apple loop etc.

-Garage Band works fine, but opening a GB project in Logic doesn't make a difference. Still no preview.

-Reseting preferences didn't help.

-Redownload didn't help.

I think this problem started when I upgraded my system to Big Sur, although I am not sure of it. It might've begun earlier.

Either way thanks for your help :)
