How do I separate devices?

My husband and I each have a phone and we each have an iPad. Everything is under the same Apple ID. We would like to give the iPads to our kids and make it so they have separate Apple ids. How do I do this?

iPad, iPadOS 13

Note Apple ID should not be shared.

It identifies one person (ID). Each kid should've their own Apple ID.

This is what you should do with the iPad(s) before you gave them away,

To share books, apps and games purchases, setup Family sharing, read here => Family Sharing and Apple ID for your child - Apple Support
