Text too light to see in Big sur. I wanted to change the font size in Notes, but I couldn't even see the slider in Notes Preferences. I know that this is not something the community can solve but I'm posting this as a comment in hopes that Apple will notice.

I agree the text options there are not very good.

I don't know why apple have op. for this way.

I put it down to trying to use less power consumption. This is just my guess

What i have found is in:

  • System Preference/
  • Accessibility/
  • display/

I have ticked increase contrast. This is the only option i have found helps a little bit more for me.

Thanks for the idea. There are only 2 options in Accessibility that might apply. One was decreasing the transparency, which doesn't affect the fonts, and the other is to increase contrast. Increasing contrast merely puts a heavy outline around every window. Neither of these options is helpful. I googled how to provide feedback and here is the link: https://www.apple.com/feedback/macos.html.

From my point of view, some of my problem with this may be age related (frowny emoji should be here). I went to the Accessibility section & nothing was really helpful. Maybe they should make font lightness an option. This is a youth-driven environment, but some of us who are not so youthful are trying our best to participate.

This is definitely the new approach. I've seen this trend in all sorts of publications which have some artistic ambitions. The problem is that the people driving the aesthetic have young eyes. I found the place to provide feedback and I will do that, but we need lots of people to follow suite.

I've also noticed that text seems to adjust itself more when different desktop backgrounds are showing. I have my background set to rotate every 30 minutes and sometimes I can read the text in the buttons when a dialog box appears. It would be nice if you could remove some of the transparency options.
