iPhone se 2020 Bluetooth partially connecting

I have a iPhone se 2020 second gen and I am having trouble trying to get notifications to sound on my Julie charge 3 speaker.

I have it paired and when I am playing ringtones through a Downloader I can hear them just fine through the Bluetooth speaker.

I cannot hear anything else through the speaker. No phone calls or voice, text message notifications or anything.

I have the latest updates and have forgotten the Bluetooth and reset both the Bluetooth and the iPhone.

I am sure there is something simple I am missing but if anyone has an idea that would be amazingly helpful. I use this for a work phone and when on call I need to be able to hear these messages through my sleep.
