Wifi on ipad air 4 is excruciatingly slow

Sorry but you did not really answer his question, the speed on his other devices is fine.

I have the same problem at home my MacBook and iPhone both show in excess of 30Mbps

My brand new IPad Air 4 shows 13Mbps.

At work the problem is even worse iPhone and MacBook in excess of 40Mbps.

iPad Air 4 between 1 and 2 Mbps with is very slow.

The issue is with the iPad Air not the router or service provider.

I am using ookla to measure the speed.

No problem with the pencil so far for me.

Not sure about firewall on the router will need to check.

Not using a VPN anywhere.

Did the reset as you suggested above and now I am getting the following figures running Ookla:

iPad Air 4 Download 1.88 Mbps UpLoad 17.7 Mbps

MacBook Download 69.5 Mbps UpLoad 13.3 Mbps

iPhone 8 Download 57.5 Mbps UpLoad 15.4 Mbps

In fact Ookla failed to run a couple of times on the iPad.

Interesting that the upLoad figure is not adversely effected.

The Draytek Router system has been running for a number of years now. This is the first time I have encountered a problem like this.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I'm also facing the same problem where the wifi speed on my iPad Air 4 is significantly slower than that of my iPhone and MacBook. I bought the iPad Air 4 in October 2020, and this problem started to occur about a month ago, to the point where web pages would not even load because of how slow it was.

I am not sure whether this is a hardware or software issue. It was running on iPad OS 14.3 when I first came across this problem, and has remained despite updating to iPad OS 14.4.

Has anyone reached out to Apple about this problem yet?

i'm living in Germany ( Dutch origin) and because of Covid we are in lockdown.... only necessary shops and supermarkets are open. I will call Apple on Monday . thanks for the reply!

What a coincidence, I live in the UK and we are also under lockdown. I plan on taking it to the Apple store once it reopens. Tried calling Apple support but it wasn’t very helpful, already tried the things they suggested beforehand. Like forgetting the WiFi then rejoining or resetting network settings.

But I think Apple still have a problem with this product.

I like to leave my MacBook at home and use the iPad when I travel on business. But if can't rely on hotels having 5Ghz WiFi (and you can't) then it will be unusable.

Hope it is a software problem and they should be able to fix.

But if it is hardware then dunno.

I am warning people off this product at the moment.

Same here too , both the wife and I have new iPad airs and we both have iPhone X’s . My kids have X-R phones a new MacBook Air and a new iPad pro the Speed tests on on all devices is good , EXCEPT!! The 2 new iPad airs which are way slower WTF is going on Apple 😡😡

I have now given feedback via the first link you gave. Hope that will do in order to get an answer. Otherwise I will try the other options you gave me. I will post whatever answer I get here.

Interestingly the up load speed is not effected on any of the bands at home or work.

Something is not right.

I have the same problem, and I’m really looking forward to hear what Apple has to say about it un this thread.

I would imagine apple has had a number of returns for this product by now.

Has it kept working? Hoping that solution works for me... I’m already connected to a 5ghz band, but to no avail. Not sure what remaining options are left.

So far it works. I haven't experienced problems worth mentioning.

And on speedtests it has approximately the same download and upload performance as my Iphone 11.
