Need to update OS X version

Hello all - My computer is telling me "to use your iPhone with ITunes, you need to install OS X 10.11.4 (or later). I currently have OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. How can I go about doing this? Thanks for the advice!

Macbook pro won’t update past OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 I am trying to update my laptop to OS X 10.11.4 (or later) so I can use iTunes to update my iPhone 8 with the most recent update. My Macbook Pro is from 2009. What is the best way to update? I don't see anything in my App Store. Thanks!

Trying to Update to new OS I don't use my Mac often, and it currently has OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. I am trying to update my phone on iTunes, and it says that I need OS X 10.11.4 or later. I went to system prefernces, there is no software update link. I then selected About this Mac from the apple drop down, and selected software update from there, but nothing appears. I also went to the app store preferences as well to ensure that I am set up for automatic updates, which I am. Any ideas how I can get the newest OS?

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which Mac model you have, download High Sierra, Catalina, or Big Sur through the links provided.
