You can see the cycle count in System Information > Power (in Applications> Utilities) but Apple do not have a function that allows you to see "health" as a percentage, at least not as recently a macOS 10,14 Mojave. The best way is a free utility Coconut Battery. I've used it for years.

In addition to showing cycles and battery health as a percentage, it will show to the week when computer was produced, giving you an idea of the actual age of the computer.

The screenshots on the page I linked will give you an idea of what is shown.

The reason you need an app is that Apple does not show the "design capacity" of their batteries, and it is different for each notebook models. Heath is defined as the "full charge capacity" (in System Information> Power) divided by the Design capacity. We don't know design capacities, but Coconut Battery does.

If you have an iDevice, the apps can also give your the condition of its battery.
