From a web browser sign in with your old Apple ID and password with account credentials at www.icloud.com , open mail and see some articles https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/icloud/mm6b1a0b80/icloud

If you had turned on archive feature the mails can be searched https://support.apple.com/guide/icloud/archive-email-mm6b1a18bd/icloud
If you had deleted mails they are moved in trash and kept only for 30 days after that the mails are erased permanently from iCloud server https://support.apple.com/guide/icloud/delete-email-mm6b1a7ab7/icloud
