I bought the new Macbook Air with the M1 chip in 04/12/2020 and is still processing. Didn't even charged the debit card. Also, the estimated delivery is for 08/01/2021. I know I might get earlier than this, but even though is a 01 month estimated time. Is it always so long to deliver when a new product is launched?
**** dude. That is along time. Ive seen people who ordered theirs in November getting theirs now. Maybe shipping to Ireland takes a year? I have no idea as im in the states but that would be insane if so. I would call Apple right away, because that has been a long time, especially for a base model M1. I would maybe go to the nearest Best Buy or computer store (im not sure if they have them in Ireland) and buy them as stores have the base models in stock, just not the upgraded configurations

Just realized you guys not in the united states write your Dates differently and switch the month and day compared to how we do it in the states. NOW i get it lol. Yes that should be normal delivery time, but i would check your local computer stores because the BASE spec M1's are in stores
Haha, yeah I've noticed you misunderstood on the 01 year wait time. Unfortunately we don't have an Apple Store here nor Best Buy. The authorized sellers are out of stock and I bought as a student (discount).

Fortunately, they have shipped yesterday from the Netherlands! So this week, perhaps next week, I will have it in my hands.

Ok, I got the MacBook already and it is amazing! :D
By the way, could anyone tell me if I should use it connected to a power outlet all the time to prevent battery cycles going up or should I let it go up and down according to my use. I will be using this as my daily driver and it will be 10 hours a day or more.

It will depending on many factors, supply chain issues, if ordered a custom configuration, COVID -19 related issues etc.
I guess that Covid is the villain on this one. I got the base model macbook air. In any case I'm curious to know if more people in Dublin, Ireland are facing this issue.
