PS4 Dual Shock Controller No Longer Pairs

I purchased a PS4 Dual Shock controller at the Apple Store earlier this year. It worked fine with my iPad Pro for a while. Then, I tried pairing it with my new iMac. From that point forward, the controller did not work on either of my devices. I have forgotten the device from both the iPad and iMac, reset the controller (pinhole on back), upgraded my iOS and MacOS, and scoured forums looking for solutions. It appears I am not the only one experiencing this. It is very frustrating as I subscribe to Apple Arcade and haven’t been able to play with the controller for a few months now.

The current situation: when attempting to pair the Dual Shock controller with the iPad or iMac, it doesn’t even show up on the Apple device’s Bluetooth screen.

Any help is appreciated.

Fixed it myself. Just hold the Home and Share on the controller for a really long time. Took about a minute of holding them down with iPad Bluetooth screen open. Hopefully same fix works on the iMac. If you are having trouble, try this! Hold the Home and Share on your controller down for a minute or more. Another guy online said it took him over two minutes. Haha.
