In the past whenever I wanted to share a photo on FB all I did was click the image icon in FB and I was directed to my Finder and could see all the items on my desktop. Since upgrading to Big Sur my desktop no longer appears in the column on the left so accessing photos or folders there is impossible. Does anyone have a solution?
Add your Desktop to the Sidebar, or use the file browser to go to the Desktop.
Does the open file dialog have a Sidebar? If not, click the triangle next to the file name field.

I went to Finder>preferences>sidebar and added it in. Problem solved. Yay!
