remove backups of phones I no longer have

How can I list when backups are saved to my local MBP system drive? How do I remove backups for a phone I no longer have? Running osx 10.15.7

the backups folder does not distinguish what directory is to what device. And come on this OSX - iTunes used to do this fine from the app. The best answer I have is: the link you sent does not talk about going to apple->about-this-mac->system information->storage->manage->iOS Files then click the device and Delete

I cant find "under the General tab" in finder. come on Apple - you can do better than this.

From the article:

    1. On a Mac with macOS Catalina 10.15 or later, open the Finder. … Click your device.


When you select your iPhone in the Finder Sidebar, there is a General tab where you can find the Manage Backups… button.

But, if you no longer have the iPhone, you wouldn't see them in the Sidebar which is why you would need to go to the backups folder which was shown in that article, also.
