If you are running Catalina (macOS 10.15 whatever), then there is no version of iTunes that runs on your system.

Instead, the functionality of the old iTunes has been split into multiple Apps, including some iDevice related functionality that is now performed using the Finder.

Apple split it up in Catalina. Use the new applications instead.

For Windows 10:

• Download iTunes from the Microsoft Store (Windows 10)
• Download the latest version of iTunes from Apple's website.

For a Mac:

With Mojave or Earlier Installed:

If you are on Catalina or Big Sur, and you don't want to use the awful Music app, you can use Retroactive to install up to iTunes 12.9 on your Mac.
