How do I change the name displayed for my device?

How do I change the name that is displayed for my device? For example, the name people see when I sign into a Zoom call. I want it to be my actual name instead of “John’s iPad”

Go to Settings>General>About>Name Type your name for your device there. Now, when using Zoom, you may need to make changes in Zoom Settings. I believe it has to do with your name when you sign in.

You can go into the Settings app, tap the top bar with your name on it, then in the right column, tap Name, Phone numbers and Email then it will ask for your Apple ID password to be able to edit this information, but it always going to be followed with iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch at the end.

This is just the way it has always been.
