Air Drop and add photos to emails

I recently air dropped photos from my iPhone to my MacBook Pro. They were sent to downloads. When I tried to copy them to "photos" they went to "imports". Now when I try to add them to an email "imports" is not an option. I also tried to send them from "imports" to "photos", no luck.???

In Apple Photos, Imports are really just 'aliases' for the images in All Photos. If you open the Photos app and go to Imports, you can secondary-click on an image and select Show in All Photos to find the original. From that same menu, you can also Share the image to Mail, etc., or simply click the photo and drag it to the desktop (which makes a copy of it) and attach it to the email from there.
