Locking a clip
Hello,
I can't seem to figure out how to lock individual clips in the time line to stop them from moving? I remember years ago a look symbol was to the left I think? Were is this in Final Cut X?
Cheers

I can't think of any NLE that has a lock clip function, only lock tracks. Once a track is locked you can't add anything to it.
I am editing a choir video and once I line up a person to the music I want to lock the clip so it doesn't move when I added the next clip. I am VERY amateur with Final Cut!
A lot of people doing music videos put the music track on the primary storyline. When a clip is connected to the music on the primary it's locked to that spot in the music.
Okay I will investigate how that works. Thank you. Seems a simple lock button would be helpful!
Cheers
There really isn't one. Legacy FCP had a lock to lock a track, but there are no tracks in FCP it can't be locked. There may be ways around this perhaps if we knew what you were trying to lock and why.
