Exporting Scans from Notes App

I have been using my notes app to export scans all semester. I would click on the export button at the top of a scan, choose the Gmail app and email it to myself. Recently the Gmail option went away so I began to use Facebook messenger. Today that app disappeared as well. How can I get these apps to reappear in the export area.

Both apps used to appear near Messenger and the other apps. I really like using the scanner in notes but if I can't get it fixed I'll have to download a third party app.

Hey there egreene111,

We'd like to help however we can to get both the Gmail and Facebook Messenger apps showing on your Share Sheet, so let's get started with some basics:

  1. We see you're using an iPhone SE with iOS 13 installed. If this is the new iPhone SE, the latest version for it would be iOS 14.3. Just in case, here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then update: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
  2. It would be a good idea to make sure all of your apps are up to date: Update apps or use automatic downloads
  3. If the Gmail and Facebook Messenger apps support the extension, you can scroll to the right of your apps in the Share Sheet, tap on 'More', then see if you can add it from there to your 'Favorites'.
  4. Another step to try would be to check if you're able to select the 'Copy' option, then open either app and 'Paste' what you copied into it.
