I signed up for an Apple Card but I am not home for the next 6 months, I assumed I could get it in my mail, but apparently fed ex is delivering it which I did not know! My drive way is gated. Now what can I do???? Fed ex won’t respond to my inquiry

You should have gotten the digital card directly in the wallet app on your iPhone. And you can use that directly with Apple Pay, and on websites.
For the physical one being sent by FedEx you could ask someone to go and sign for it.
The card is essentially blank and cannot be used without you activating it first, so there's no risk in someone else holding it for you until you get back or forwarding it to you wherever you are.
It has no numbers on it, and nothing that could be used to charge anything until you actually activate it.
