Blue Apple Logo and Green Progress Bar on Wakeup

For the last month or so when I go to wakeup my 13" MBP a blue Apple logo and green progress bar will show up before going to the password entry screen. Anyone know what is causing this or why it's happening?

Hi Mac-and-Cheese-Abuser,

It looks like you see a blue Apple logo along with a green progress bar on your Mac before you are able to log in. Making sure your Mac starts up as expected is crucial. We're glad you reached out for help.

Start with booting your Mac in safe mode to see if the issue happens again.

How to use safe mode on your Mac

If the issue continues after safe mode you'll want to unplug all accessories from your Mac, including printers, drives, USB hubs, and other nonessential devices. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, then press it again to turn your Mac back on. See if your Mac starts up to the same logo and progress bar.

Additional recommendations should you still see this start up screen are in the resource below.

We hope this helps. Have a good day!
