When using my iPhone 12 whether I'm watching a video or playing a game and locks, the face ID does not work in horizontal position (landscape) when trying to unlock it to resume my activity.
Anyone else with this problem? is it on purpose?
If not, try to fix this quickly APPLE.

That's by design. You can use Face ID in portrait mode only.

I doubt it can be fixed. The camera is at the top of the phone, and there is an IR LED array that projects a set of spots onto your face that the camera then “reads”. In landscape mode the spots will not cover your full face.
And this is not the place to ask anything of Apple as it is only other users here.

For it to work horizontally they would have to put a notch on the long edge.
