My mac is 10.13.6. How can I update my safari? The apple drop down menu does not offer "Software Update".

Open the Mac App Store, click on the Updates tab, and install any Safari or security ones which appear. If your MacBook Air model is recent enough, back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download Mojave, Catalina, or Big Sur.

Alternatively, switch to a different web browser.
