Getting back to other messages after replying to a specific thread

So replying to specific thread is awesome. But how do you get back to other messages once your done I have to close out the message app and reopen it. Seems like there should be a better way.

You don't have to close out the Messages app to return back to the thread. After you have responded then try tapping on any blank portion of the screen around your reply. That should return you back to the thread.
