Using Dual Laptops as monitors for MacBook Pro and Air

i have a MacBook air and a 2015 MacBook pro - i'm trying to use both at the same time for work to go back and forth from one screen to the other and bought the hyper drive duo to connect them but i can't get them to read one another. When i go to displays, arrangements does not show up, so what do I do to connect them so i can use them together? Thanks

You can SHARE the screen of another computer in a window using screen sharing. but that's all.

MacBooks do not have any display inputs. Your attempts to use a MacBook as a display are doomed to failure.
