Sound and microphone in Boot camp
the sound and microphone is not working in windows 8. do i have to install an app or drivers?

Download and install Windows support software on your Mac - Apple Support
This may give you W10 drivers, not W8.1.
If that happens, you can manually download W7/W8.1 drivers from Install Windows 7 on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support for the appropriate year/model of your Mac. These drivers will also work for W8.1.
