Watch not recording exercise properly

Hi! I have my daily exercise time set for 50 minutes, yet if I go for an outdoor walk and start my watch for the workout, it only allots me 25 minutes out of a 60 minute walk. Yesterday, I did a HIIT workout for 21 minutes, and later a 50 minute walk. It only gave me credit for 50 min of workout total, so I had to fill in with 10 min of yoga, which is kind of silly. I don’t get it. My watch seems to be recording the workouts. Just not giving me the credit for closing my rings. 😒Whyyyy??? Thanks.

The exercise ring doesn’t measure time of a workout, it measures time of intense activity where your heart rate is above normal. So, for example, on a walk, it’s harder to get your heart rate up for a long period of time and therefore harder to get all 30 minuets of exercise credit. Your Watch uses a lot of different data in its calculations as well, including arm movement in applicable exercises.
