is battery replacement a same day service?

I need to replace the battery on my MacBook air.

I have an appt at a genius bar. Is this a same day service or do I return for pick-up?

Depends on a whole variety of things such as how old

the MacBook Air is (if it is beyond a certain point Apple

will not repair and must be done through an Authorized

Apple Service Provider), whether they have to order batteries

(a likely scenario), or return t to Apple to have it serviced,

COVID-19 restrictions, etc.
