I have HBO on Apple TV watch now channels. How do I find my HBO max sign in.

I figured it out - I had to go through these convoluted steps. So it wasn't working on my Apple TV either per my previous post and this is what I had to do.

1. I could not see Apple in the TV provider list when using HBO max on my apple TV, so on my desktop computer in a web browser, I signed into HBO Max from this webpage by selecting Apple TV as my provider. It will then direct you to an Apple page where you can use your Apple ID:

2. After signing in to HBO max using my Apple ID on my desktop computer, I then created a new HBO max ID while logged in using my email and a new password of course for the HBO Max sign on ( I would not recommend using the same password as used for your Apple ID ). It also wanted me to verify my email, and I did that step.

3. I went back to the Apple TV and tried to watch some HBO max content again and when prompted for the sign on, I used the email/new password for the HBO Max account that I created in step 2.

It seems to be working now. Having Apple TV not coming up in the provider's list to sign on in the Apple TV app is a bug in my opinion, but at least I got it working. I never heard back from HBO Max support, they just started ignoring me after I sent them some screen pictures of it not working on Apple TV.

I am having the same issues and getting frustrated. I have been subscribed to HBO via Apple TV for a while using my iTunes login. I can watch HBO content fine, and have for a while, but when I try to watch new HBO MAX content, it opens the HBO MAX App and asks me to login, subscribe, or "restore purchases".

I talked to Apple support and was told my HBO subscription was good to go and I should be able to view HBO MAX without having to re-subscribe. They asked me to talk to HBO MAX support.

HBO MAX support keeps asking me for my account email and I keep telling them I'm using the iTunes account email ( why do I have to setup a new account?? This is all supposted to work via Apple TV channels, correct? ) and I am subscribed to HBO and Per their own HBO MAX webpage I shoudl be able to view HBO Max content. I've been chatting with them for over a day now and they can't seem to help me at all.

1. So I tried to "verify purchases" option in HBO MAX and it says it can't find a iTunes subscription even though I am subscribed to HBO for a while now and can watch regular HBO content on my Apple TV.
2. I am hesitant to hit "subscribe" in HBO Max since I'm already getting billed for HBO and don't want a double subscription and why should I need to do this when I'm already subscribed to HBO for a while via Apple TV?
3. I haven't got a clear answer from HBO Max support, and they just keep asking for my email or how I log in every few hours. I think I'm getting bounced from rep to rep.
4. I deleted and restored HBO Max app hoping it would fix this issue, but it hasn't.

Very poor rollout in my opinion, Did they not migrate the old HBO accounts on Apple TV to HBO Max? Plus the HBO Max App and the Apple TV app should at least talk enough via API or something in my opinion to let you know what you have to do ( Do I setup up a new account? Do I Unsubscribe and re-subscribe?, etc ) if you already have an HBO account from before HBO Max. I have had no issues with Disney+ or CBS Access, so I'm sure its something specific to this HBO MAX app or account setup.

Kind of thinking of just cancelling HBO for a month or 2 and then resubscribing to see if that clears it up. I also might try creating a HBO Max account using my email, but I still have to ask "WHY?" if I am already subscribed to regular HBO in Apple TV via my iTunes account and email.
