this doesn't seem to work:

I want to save some disk space by removing unused files.


How can this be done?

It may just be protected by SIP. If that is the case you can just disable SIP and delete the items.

However, those are probably in the read-only volume, so you would need to boot from some other source and mount the drive read/write. You could do that from Recovery and delete the items from the Terminal if you are adept at Unix.


Which part of the article you linked did not work? It should have worked.
