ios 14.2 Flashlight on lock screen failure!

I was extremely annoyed by the flashlight app on the lock screen. This morning I realized that the flashlight was on all night when my hand accidentally touched it last night. It hasn't been 2 weeks since I bought the phone. Who knows how many hours left the life of the flash LED, how much has its performance decreased! When I checked my battery usage setting, flash was used continuously for 8 hours and 45 minutes. Apple also does not allow us to turn it off from the lock screen. No matter how much I pay attention to how to use it for longer, the flashlight application on the lock screen can turn on itself and stay open for up to 9 hours. It was disappointing for me and I found that my careful handling of the iPhone was out of place.

You have nothing to worry.

the ‘flash’ is a full fledged light and it has a very long life. I use my flash light like a torch for hours in a week. Sometimes even in a day. Have been doing this ever since the torch became an inbuilt app within iOS ( iOS 7 it was ), and even before.

In all these years never ever have I even heard of ( let alone experience) a flash failing/dying.

Next time just be careful not touch the phone by maybe keeping it face down while you sleep.

Cheers.

Please keep the screen locked. There is no Flash in there when it is locked.

Open Settings.

  1. Tap "Display & Brightness." Navigate to the "Display & Brightness" menu in your Settings app. ...
  2. Tap "Auto-Lock." Tap the "Auto-Lock" tab. ...
  3. Choose the amount of time you want your screen to stay on after you last touch your iPhone. Your options are 30 Seconds, anywhere from one to five minutes, and Never.
